Code 95 Certification

Driver’s License The most important document for a truck driver, like any other vehicle driver, is the driver’s license.

A driver’s license of the appropriate category is required – category “CE” must be open, which allows you to drive a truck (category C) with a trailer weighing more than 750 kg.

To apply for the “CE” category, the following documents are required:

  • A copy of your driver’s license
  • Proof of continuous driving experience in category B, C1, or C for at least 1 year
  • Medical certificate form 083/o.

Medical certificate 083/o

MThe 083/o certificate is a mandatory medical examination for drivers. To obtain the 083/o certificate, you must visit a state local polyclinic or a licensed private clinic. Appointments are made in advance, and you will need to provide certain documents, specifically:

  • Passport: First and second pages, registration. If you have a new-style passport or ID card, you must provide a residence registration certificate.
  • Two photos: Size 3×4.
  • Blood type and Rh factor certificate.
  • For men: Military ticket or certificate of registration.
  • Certificates from a narcologist and psychiatrist.

The procedure for the medical examination is as follows:

  1. Examination by a narcologist and psychiatrist, including a blood alcohol test.
  2. Visits to specialists in the commission.
  3. Laboratory tests.

The specialists who assess your fitness to drive include:

  • Neurologist: Checks for neurological diseases. Individuals with cerebrovascular disorders or epilepsy cannot obtain the 083/o certificate.
  • Surgeon: Examines limb defects.
  • Otolaryngologist: Checks for malignant tumors.
  • Ophthalmologist: Assesses your vision sharpness.
  • Psychiatrist: Checks if you are registered with a psychiatrist; if so, you will not receive the certificate. If no deviations are found, they will sign the document for the medical certificate.
  • Narcologist: Checks if you are registered with a narcologist; if so, you will not receive the 083/o certificate. They will assess your current state to see if you are using drugs.
  • Gynecologist: For women only.
  • Therapist: The last doctor to sign the 083/o medical certificate, provided all previous doctors found no contraindications. The therapist reviews laboratory tests and, based on the results, signs the certificate for the driver and affixes the clinic’s stamp.

List of Tests and Examinations for Drivers (Candidate Drivers):

  • Blood test to determine blood type and Rh factor.
  • Complete blood count and urinalysis.
  • Electrocardiogram (ECG).
  • Fluorography.
  • Vestibular apparatus and vision sharpness examination.

Sometimes, certain driving schools may offer medical commission services, which are usually mentioned as additional services.

Continuous Driving Experience

To confirm continuous driving experience in categories B, C1, and C, a driver can provide a registered personal vehicle as evidence. The technical passport of the vehicle will serve as proof. For individuals who drive a car but do not own it, the proof will include the technical passport, a notarized power of attorney, and a contract or agreement. With these documents, it will be easy for the driver to confirm their driving experience at the MVS service center. When opening categories BE, CE, C1E, the opportunity to validate experience and skills is granted through the main categories B, C1, C after one year of driving.

So, you have the “CE” driver’s license and the 083/o medical certificate. What’s next? Next, you need to obtain the “driver’s card” for the digital tachograph.

Driver’s Digital Tachograph Card

The driver’s card is a plastic card used to track the driver’s compliance with work and rest regulations. It is inserted into the “tachograph” and has a chip that records all the data. It is issued by the State Enterprise . “UkrtransNDIproekt”

Without this document, it is impossible to be employed as a driver of a vehicle weighing over 3.5 tons in Europe.

It is also required for Ukrainian drivers who, while working for a Ukrainian company, transport goods to countries in the European Union and the CIS.
