Code 95 – Driver’s Qualification Card in Ukraine

List of required documents for taking the courses:

  • Application for the intention to take professional qualification confirmation courses;
  • Copy of passport – pages 1, 2, and the page with registration (or ID card from both sides and an extract with the place of registration);
  • Copy of foreign passport – first page;

  • Copy of the driver’s license of the appropriate category (from both sides);
  • Color photograph (on a white background);
  • Driver’s phone number;
  • Driver’s email address;
  • Consent to the processing of personal data.

Duration of training for Code 95

The duration of training depends on the date of obtaining the driver’s license and the date of opening categories “C” and “D”. The presence or absence of category “E” in a motorist does not matter.

If category “C” was opened before 09.09.2009, the driver takes SO – a short training course. The program includes theoretical classes without the need for testing. Duration: 5 days.

If category “C” was opened after 09.09.2009, the driver must take KWP – a full course lasting 4 weeks. The program includes theoretical and practical classes, after which the student takes an exam. The test consists of 30 questions from the program that the driver studied during the training.

What do they study?

The training course can be divided into several parts:

  • Driver’s working time, working mode;
  • Driver’s work with the tachograph;
  • Road tolls;
  • Route optimization;
  • Filling out CMR waybills;
  • Passing road control;
  • Technical characteristics of a truck;
  • Basics of economical driving or “Eco Driving”;
  • Legal norms of the European Union;
  • Driver’s financial responsibility and fines;
  • Driver’s rights and obligations;
  • Forms and types of activities of transport companies;
  • Providing first aid in case of an accident;
  • Placement and securing of cargo in trailers and semi-trailers;
  • Speed limits.

What is the validity period of Code 95?

The certificate is valid for 5 years from the date of its issuance to the driver. The driver is required to take the long course only once, after which every 5 years he/she undergoes a mandatory 5-day refresher course.

Attention! If you plan to work as a driver for a company registered in an EU country, you need to obtain Code 95 in the European Union. The Ukrainian one will not be suitable. The most convenient places to do this are Poland or Lithuania.

As of April 6, 2022, changes were introduced to the Code 95 training system in Poland. More details about Code 95 in Poland HERE!!!
