ADR Kit – What Must a Driver Have When Transporting ADR Goods?

When transporting dangerous goods (ADR), the driver must not only have additional knowledge but also have the necessary equipment – the ADR Set or Kit.

The composition of additional equipment kits for a truck carrying dangerous goods may vary. The content of ADR transport kits depends on the class of dangerous goods, for more details about the classes, read here…

The kits for transporting dangerous goods are listed below for international transport.

For hazard classes 1, 1.4, 1.5, 1.6, 2.1, and 2.2

For dangerous goods with ADR hazard classes 1, 1.4, 1.5, 1.6, 2.1, and 2.2, the ADR kit must include the following items:

  • Flashing yellow light with autonomous power supply – 2 pcs.;
  • Orange vest with reflective elements – 1 pc. (for each crew member);
  • Protective gloves – 1 pair (for each crew member);
  • Portable flashlight – 1 pc. (for each crew member);
  • Protective glasses – 1 pc. (for each crew member);
  • Wheel chocks;
  • Marking elements;
  • Fire extinguishers;

ADR Kit for hazard class 2.3

  • Flashing yellow light with autonomous power supply – 2 pcs.;
  • Orange vest with reflective elements – 1 pc. (for each crew member);
  • Protective gloves – 1 pair (for each crew member);
  • Portable flashlight – 1 pc. (for each crew member);
  • Protective glasses – 1 pc. (for each crew member);
  • Full-face mask – 1 pc. (for each crew member);
  • ADR filter for the full-face mask – 1 pc. (for each crew member);
  • Wheel chocks;
  • Marking elements;
  • Fire extinguishers;

ADR Kit for hazard classes 3, 4.1, 4.3, 8, or 9

  • Flashing yellow light with autonomous power supply – 2 pcs.;
  • Orange vest with reflective elements – 1 pc. (for each crew member);
  • Protective gloves – 1 pair (for each crew member);
  • Portable flashlight – 1 pc. (for each crew member);
  • Protective glasses – 1 pc. (for each crew member);
  • Eye rinse fluid – 1 pc. (for each crew member);
  • Plastic folding shovel – 1 pc.;
  • Drainage trap (cover for sewer collectors);
  • Plastic container for collecting spilled hazardous goods (10 l);
  • Wheel chocks;
  • Marking elements;
  • Fire extinguishers;

For hazard classes 4.2, 5.1, 5.2, 6.2, or 7

  • Flashing yellow light with autonomous power supply – 2 pcs.;
  • Orange vest with reflective elements – 1 pc. (for each crew member);
  • Protective gloves – 1 pair (for each crew member);
  • Portable flashlight – 1 pc. (for each crew member);
  • Protective glasses – 1 pc. (for each crew member);
  • Eye rinse fluid – 1 pc. (for each crew member);
  • Wheel chocks;
  • Marking elements;
  • Fire extinguishers;

ADR Kit for hazard class 6.1

  • Flashing yellow light with autonomous power supply – 2 pcs.;
  • Orange vest with reflective elements – 1 pc. (for each crew member);
  • Protective gloves – 1 pair (for each crew member);

  • Protective glasses – 1 pc. (for each crew member);
  • Full-face mask – 1 pc. (for each crew member);
